A Royal Pain Unruly Royals Megan Mulry Books

I picked up “A Royal Pain” because I needed to watch a commoner get swept away by a prince. When Bronte met Max in America, she had no idea he was from a royal family. His royal blood soon interrupted their budding relationship, and tested whether Bronte could feel comfortable enough to marry into his family. I appreciated that both Bronte and Max obsessed over their relationship and whether it would move forward. The story and pace of the events was good, and kept me entertained even though it was a bit predictable. This was a brain candy book that had no deep story lines or thought provoking themes.

I liked that Bronte was in her late twenties, which made her a career woman rather than a silly unfocused girl. The pace of the book slowed once they became engaged and the plot after that point needed more action. I loved the scene where Bronte tried on all the family’s heirloom jewelry to select her engagement ring. It was every girl’s dream to be dripping with jewelry! From the cover, I was lulled into thinking this would be a cute chick lit book, so I was surprised when a hefty portion was squarely in the romance / erotica genre! I would never have picked this up if I had known I would read about Bronte and Max’s steamy sex and their quest to use 100 condoms in under a month! Yikes!

Overall, the book was entertaining but I don’t think I’ll read the remaining series.

A Royal Pain Unruly Royals Megan Mulry Books Reviews

Gave as gift to someone who is fascinated with the world of aristocrats....
I really wanted to like this book but unfortunately, I ended up just skimming the last half. The flow wasn't great and there were pages upon pages of the author rambling about things that made no difference to the story. Character development was non-existent and Bronte was obnoxious. Max, however, was the best part of the book.
This is my first Megan Mulry read and I have enjoyed it. I loved all of the characters, including the mother's. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good read about people we all know and who could be living in any country, state or city.
A fun read about a dream becoming reality...A "regular" girl (and American to boot), winds up in the world she's only faithfully followed & reads everything she can get her hands on about royalty.
She doesn't know she's dating a member of the royalty she's only read about...Now she is the one dealing with the paparazzi, rules, and rumors. Can she handle all that life offers? Or will she walk away, most likely with her broken heart?
I loved this book - I read it twice in 2 years. Great for everybody, especially those who dream of a "William & Kate" type of life happening to them.
Enjoy!
Bronte reminded me of so many women who think that way.. I like how Bronte wanted control over het life. How she also wanted to be consoled. To be safe in a man's arms. To know she matter to her father. Sometime we can be so much into our funk. But I love the fight to change, forgive, compromise and be unconditional.. I would love other women to read this,, It's an eye opener..
Eloisa James recommended this book so I looked it up. I was sold when I saw the glowing quotes from Jill Mansell and Susanna Kearsley, two of my favorite authors. However, I found the book to be a huge disappointment. I am in awe of anyone who actually completes and publishes a novel so I am giving it three stars but my initial impulse was to give it two because it fell abysmally short of my expectations. I read it to the end, but I didn't enjoy it. The characters were trite and unlikeable. The instant connections Bronte makes with people were unbelievable. She would meet someone and instantly exchange intimate details. Also, Bronte is too old to behave so rudely and immaturely. For example, she meets Max's unpleasant mother at a restaurant and, after his mother leaves, she jokes with the chef asking if she will be her mother-in-law and then she proceeds to get drunk because meeting his mother was such an awful experience. Most importantly, I truly didn't see the attraction between the characters beyond endless descriptions of them having sex which frankly began to feel a bit perfunctory.
Sexual Content explicit oral and penetrative sex
Language very strong throughout

The book felt a little like a saga covering a couple of years. I enjoyed the book but there were points of character change that left me a little confused. The character would have a startling realization about herself and I thought. Huh. I knew she had an issue, but I didn't get that this was it. Frankly, even when explained I still didn't get it. Possibly lack of IQ points on my part. Unrelated to the stars, but for the benefit of those trying to decide whether or not to purchase, if I'd known how explicit the sex was I wouldn't have bought it.
