Unfortunately poor copy editing or none at all is a complete turn off to me. I just now quit reading King Solomon's Troubles, even though I was 60% of the way through it, because of that. Some examples: Fatima must have attended more two hundred weddings in her young life (should have been "more than"), She had moist brown eyes that express a soft wonder at the world (jumping from past tense "had" to present tense "express" in the same sentence), He liked to place is indelible stamp on a woman (I suspect "is" was meant to be "his").

Needless to say just using spell check, to check a manuscript for mistakes, will not catch the types of mistakes listed above. Someone actually needs to take the time to proofread and edit it before rushing it off to publication. To me it smacks of laziness when the author can't be bothered to do that.

King Solomon's Troubles was such an amazing read. Very rarely do you find a book that articulates the realities of human nature relative to our moral and spiritual desires, in such an effective way. Senesh accomplishes this and more in this book. It really broadened my perspective on how I view my own spirituality and my human frailties as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!
