This is the final in the 12 Christmas Bride series. This one features Karen who has come to be married on Christmas eve to her fiance Clayton who she has known since she was young. Clayton is now a pastor and we see how Karen wants to be married but is scared she will do something to affect Clayton or that she may not be suitable to be a Pastors Wife. Throw in a few locals who can be difficult and a single girl use to having her own way and you have some interesting situations happening. I really felt for Karen I could feel her insecurities which some stem from childhood and it was good to see how the author would deal with them. Good clean Christian Christmas story
Great series! This series is fun and easy to read. I could hardly wait for the next one to arrive and then devoured each one quickly. Nice, simple Christmas reads.
Karen travels to Bakersville to become the pastor's wife. Clay has cared for her since they were children, when he became her champion and her comfort. Karen is very worried she won't make a good pastor's wife. I enjoyed this story and finished it this morning. Merry Christmas, everyone! Happy birthday, Jesus!
What a lovely story to finish off the 12 Brides of Christmas series. Karen and Clay have loved each other since they were kids. But it isn't until her aunt died and Karen has no where else to turn that Clay proposes marriage. Karen finds herself wondering if he really loves her or if he's just doing his duty in offering to marry her. Humor is plentiful in the story also.
A charming story of a young woman engaged to the preacher of a small town church. When she moves to her new town she thinks everything she does will get her fiance fired. He laughs at most of her antics. The straw that breaks the camels back (or so she thinks) is when she bakes fruit cakes for a church sale and she explains the baking and storage process to the women of the church. A fun Christmas story that I thoroughly enjoyed, especially since I love the fruit cake that my mother always made for Christmas.
What an unexpected treasure. I love Christmas stories, so I was looking forward to reading this book. I was very pleasantly surprised by the lighthearted romp the story turned out to be. Very enjoyable. I fully recommend this book.
The last of the 12 Brides of Christmas collection. I will miss this series as far as reading new stories. However I do plan to reread this story, I enjoyed it so much. I could relate to the characters, since I was a pastor's daughter and then a missionary. I know first hand what it is like to be in a fish bowl and having to worry what everyone in the church is thinking. The author nailed it on the head with the feeling and then the struggles of not worrying what everyone thinks but rather how does the Lord see you.
